Have you ever heard the phrase, “It’s too good to be true”?

We usually use this expression when something feels unbelievable or irrational—when it doesn’t quite make sense to our human minds. The Good News is like that: something so good that it’s hard for us to fully grasp. That’s why we sometimes struggle to accept the goodness of God.

In the world we live in, there always seems to be an exchange—we give something expecting something in return. People often want something from us, making it hard to find genuinely good people. Not to mention all the circumstances life throws our way. Yet, in the midst of this chaos, there is Good News—and it can be summed up in one word: Jesus.

Yes, Jesus—haha. He is so good. He is a great Father and a faithful friend. His love is the Good News. His love is unlike any human love—He is love. The very definition of love is Jesus.

We’ve heard it many times: “Jesus, the Savior of the world,” or “Jesus, the one who died for everyone.” It’s easy to say, but hard to live out daily. As humans, we often forget what He has done for us. His sacrifice is easily overlooked, which is why Jesus told us in Luke 22, “Do this in remembrance of me.” Communion reminds us of His sacrifice—what He did and why He died on the cross for us.

It’s easy to carry the knowledge of Jesus’ sacrifice in our minds but not in our hearts. But when the revelation of His sacrifice takes root in our hearts, our lives begin to change. We no longer strive to earn God’s acceptance. We stop doing things for Him out of fear or duty, and instead, we learn to rest, sit, and receive. It’s from that place of receiving that we can truly give—because we are overflowing with His love.

God’s gospel tells us we are free, loved, and accepted. All we have to do is believe and receive. Man’s gospel says, “I must do to receive or to become.”

In Galatians 1:11–12, Paul writes:
“I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.”

Today, we live in a world that often strives to do things for God rather than doing things from the overflow of being with Him. That’s why so many experience burnout and lack of joy. But look at Paul: he was in prison for preaching the gospel—and yet, he was rejoicing! If we find ourselves lacking joy in our circumstances, maybe we’re not living from the gospel of God.

God’s gospel doesn’t ignore pain or difficult circumstances. But walking through them with our Father is different. There’s a joy and peace that simply can’t be explained.

He is enough!
If all I do is get to live in His glory and presence for the rest of my life, I am satisfied—because He is enough! His love is enough!

Psalm 27:4 “One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple”

Sit, listen, receive and gaze upon Him and His love for you!
